Atmospheric brutal death metallers Mithras are set to release their fourth full-length album, entitled "On Strange Loops" later this year via Willowtip (North America) and Galactic Records (UK, Europe and everywhere else).
This exclusive premiere invites you to an advance listen to the album's third track, 'The Statue on the Island', which bears all the usual Mithras hallmarks: Leon Macey's razor-sharp, ferocious drums and ethereal solos set the foundations for Rayner Coss's oratory and bass. With almost nine years between this and their last full-length "Behind The Shadows Lie Madness", this latest darkly sci-fi chapter in the band's career sees them launch their music into another dimension entirely. Since cloning members is not yet an option, Mithras also recently announced a new live line-up featuring Tom Hyde (Sarpanitum) on 2nd guitar, and Julien Helwin (Monument Of Misanthropy, Horncrowned,Withdrawn) on drum duties.
The band recently announced a couple of live dates, including London's Incineration Festival this May and the Czech Republic's Brutal Assault in August. More live dates are expected to be announced very soon.
